Certainty® and Certainty plus® technology
Hospital acquired infections (HAIs) are a major public health concern worldwide that can cost hospitals millions
of dollars, concern medical workers, and cause harm to patients. Mobile soft surfaces such as medical scrubs
have the potential to help combat the spread of HAIs.
• The Certainty product line uses an antimicrobial technology called SILVADUR ™, developed and
patented by Dow Chemical Company which is bound into the matrix of a fabric and uses silver ions to
eliminate bacteria.
o When unwanted bacteria come into contact with the fabrics, silver ions are released and the
bacteria are eliminated.
o Independent third-party labs have confirmed that samples with the Certainty antimicrobial
technology demonstrate greater than 99% bacterial reduction even after 50 home launderings.
• The Certainty PLUS product line combines the SILVADUR™, antimicrobial technology with a fluid
barrier BY NANOTEX ™, that resists spills.
o The technology builds spill resistance into the fibers of the fabric, transforming each fiber so that
liquids bead up and roll off.
• Certainty and Certainty PLUS provide environmentally-friendly, cost-effective and long-lasting protection
against unwanted bacteria growth on a fabric with unmatched superiority in fit, comfort, style and price.
